Let the Lord Live in Your Heart: The Story of Ten Rooms – Inspiring Stories
Do
you have many problems that you cannot overcome despite your strong
desire to achieve that? Are you struggling with anxiety, concern, and
temper every day?
Here
is a story.
There
was once a young man who owned a very beautiful villa with ten rooms.
He was quite pleased to have this house and felt proud of it.
One
day, the young man heard a gentle tap on the door. He opened the
door, only to find it was the Lord Jesus.
Lord Jesus
said to
him, “I’d like to enter your house. Would you let Me in?” The
young man was absolutely delighted, saying, “Of course. Welcome!
The best room in the house is upstairs; it has the best furniture.
You can live in that room. Come in, please.” Lord
Jesus said
politely, “Thank you.”
The
next morning, there was a hasty knock at the door. The young man
thought: Who is knocking in such a hurry? So he opened the door to
find it out. It was actually Satan the devil! The young man shouted
immediately, “Go away, Satan!”
“No,
I have come in.”
“I
don’t want you.”
Then
they wrestled with each other, during which the young man received
filthy temptations from the devil. The situation was desperate.
It
was not until evening that the young man barely pushed the devil out
and locked the door. He was completely exhausted. Then, he thought:
Lord Jesus lives in my home, so why did He not help me? Could it be
that He didn’t hear me crying out for help? Why did He not come to
help me? So, he walked upstairs and wanted to know the reason Lord
Jesus didn’t help him since he had given Him the best room. He went
up to Lord Jesus, and asked, “Didn’t You hear Satan harassing me
all day? Why did You not help me?” Lord Jesus said, “My child,
among all of the ten rooms, you occupy nine of them, while I have
only one.” The young man seemed to realize something suddenly,
saying, “Oh Lord, I know I’ve made a mistake. So, each of us may
have half of them, You live on this floor and I live downstairs. Is
it O.K.?” As a gentleman, Lord Jesus said, “That’s fine. Thank
you.”
The
next morning, unexpectedly, an urgent knock sounded at the door once
again.
The
young man thought, “Oh, no! It must be Satan coming again. I won’t
open the door. But, what if it is someone else? How can I know that?
Maybe I can open the door just a crack to take a peep. If it is
Satan, I’ll shut the door right away.” Then, he opened a crack in
the door, only to see it was Satan again. He hurried to close the
door, but the cunning Satan had already put its foot in the crack.
Thereupon, they tussled with each other for the whole day. The
situation was even more desperate …
When
evening arrived, the young man was finally able to push the devil out
and lock the door. Again, he was completely exhausted. Then, he
thought: I’ve given half of the rooms to Lord Jesus, but why did He
still not help me? He went upstairs, saying, “Lord Jesus, Satan
came to me again! I have given You five rooms, but why did You not
help me?” Lord Jesus said, “My child, let’s try another way.
You may give Me all your ten rooms, so that it will be you living in
My home, not Me living in your home.” The young man knelt down and
took out the keys to the house. He said, “Lord Jesus, I’m willing
to give the whole house to You. From now on I’m going to live in
Your home.”
The
next morning, a heavy knock came at the door before sunrise. The
young man, still sleeping, was rudely awakened and frightened into
jumping out of bed. He burst into tears and said, “Satan came
again!” While crying, he suddenly heard footsteps in the house.
Then he realized: I’m no longer the master of the house. It is the
master of the house who is going to open the door! He saw Lord Jesus
walk downstairs and open the door widely as the King of kings and
Lord of lords. The young man hid behind Lord Jesus to see what was
going to happen. Against all expectations, when Satan saw it was Lord
Jesus standing at the door, it turned respectful and polite all of a
sudden, saying, “Sorry, I knocked on the wrong door.”
Let
Lord Jesus fight for you! He will fight against the devils, and you
can just stand behind Him.
Some
Christians give nine rooms to Lord Jesus, and put up a notice on the
door of the tenth, which says, “No Entry Without Permission.”
Why? Because they put something filthy in the tenth room, and they
don’t want Lord Jesus to enter. You may be able to deceive your
family and your friends, but you can never fool Lord Jesus.
Give
your entire house to Lord Jesus! Give your whole heart to Lord Jesus!
We should offer up our whole hearts as well as everything we have to
the Lord, and serve Him willingly and happily. The Lord will fight
for us, and He will surely triumph.
“For
as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he
also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he
might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime
subject to bondage” (Heb 2:14-15).

a touching hymn with you:God
Puts His Hope Completely on Man
I
From
the beginning until now,
only
man’s able to converse with God.
That
is, only man is able to converse with God,
among
all living things and what He created.
Man
has ears to hear, and eyes to see;
he
has thoughts, and language,
as
well as his free will.
Man
has all abilities that are required
to
hear God speak and understand God’s will,
and
accept God’s commission,
and
accept the commission from God,
and
so God puts all His hope on man.
He
wants to make man a companion of His,
who
is of the same heart and mind with Him,
and
who can walk together with Him.
II
Since
God started His management,
God’s
been waiting for man to give his heart,
give
his heart to Him all the time,
to
let Him purify and equip it,
to
make man satisfy God, loved by God,
to
make man fear God and shun evil.
God’s
been expecting and waiting,
waiting
for this outcome all the time,
to
make man satisfy God, loved by God,
to
make man fear God and shun evil.
God’s
been expecting and waiting,
waiting
for this outcome all the time.
Jesus Christ is God Himself. The Holy Father, the Holy Son, and the Holy Spirit, They are One. We can know from the bible verses, the Lord Jesus said, “he that has seen me has seen the Father….” (John 14:9) “I am in the Father, and the Father in me….” (John 14:10) “I and my Father are one” (John 10:30).
