Seizing the Opportunity to Meet Jesus Christ Who Knocks

Seizing the Opportunity to Meet Jesus Christ Who Knocks

bible, God, Jesus, Jesus Christ, holy spirit

Everybody will meet many opportunities in his life, however, how many opportunities can we grasp and profit from them? And how many opportunities may we have “brushed shoulders” with in passing? And even when we were hesitating, a wrong decision made us sorely regret!

In 1970, my daughter was born then. At that time, since my husband was working in another place, there was nobody to look after me. Still very cold in February, I did not think I was a delicate one, therefore, I washed the diapers with water from the well, and I didn’t have any particular feeling about it at that time. However, before long, my ten fingers became numb, and I could hardly change the diapers for my daughter. Being poor then, I had no money to see a doctor, and therefore, I had to go to a village healer for acupuncture. Though my ten fingers ached sharply when the village healer treated me with acupuncture, it did not work at all. Thus, I gave up the treatment, thinking: Resign to Heaven’s will!
One day, my cousin hurriedly ran over to me and said, “Your disease in confinement will be hard to cure if it exceeds 100 days. Now that your baby has been three months old, you must go for treatment without delay. I learned that a famous doctor could treat your illness. Let’s go hurriedly.” At first I hesitated slightly, saying, “I do not believe it, for the doctor in our village acupunctured me many times, but the illness never got better. Can the famous doctor you are referring to cure me?” My cousin said, “Opportunity knocks but once. The news may not reach other people’s ears even if they inquire about it. Now that we have heard it, it is an opportunity for us. If we keep on hesitating, we will miss it. Let’s go as quickly as we can!” Upon her repeated persuasion, I took a chance and went there. The famous doctor, a vice president of the hospital, was going abroad just on the day. He pricked me and then left to take a plane, even having no time to pull out the needles. If we had come a little later, we would have really missed the opportunity. After this treatment, my illness recovered. By now, several tens of years passed, I have never had a relapse. Meanwhile, my sister-in-law had the same disease as I did, but it was simply because that she had not been treated timely, her illness changed into rheumatoid arthritis ever afterward, leaving her ten fingers out of shape and unable to take care of herself. It’s terrifying thinking of it now! Fortunately, I listened to my cousin’s advice at that time and seized the opportunity, otherwise I would have a disastrous consequence like my sister-in-law.
When someone came to preach the gospel of the kingdom, I was still thinking: To hear or not? The sister who preached the gospel reminded me, “The Lord Jesus once admonished us, ‘For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened’ (Mat 7:8). ‘So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God’ (Rom 10:17). We cannot only wait passively, but cooperate with God, and seek, and then will find.” I thought repeatedly: The followers of the Lord Jesus have been longing for the return of the Lord Jesus for two thousand years. Who does not long for the return of the Savior? If the Lord Jesus we are looking forward to has really come back, yet I do not investigate and seek actively, I will regret for a lifetime.” The sister continued: “To any man that knocks, it shall be opened by the Lord Jesus. If He is Christ, then He must surely express the truth. If He is the returned Lord Jesus, then His work will be spread throughout the world, and His words reach to the very ends of the earth. Now is the last days, and the gospel of the kingdom of God is testifying the coming of the Lord Jesus through diverse ways like videos, films, MVs, hymns and articles on the Internet publicly. God’s work of the last days has been spread to all nations and places like lightning. Thinking of two thousand years ago Peter had seen the Lord Jesus, that’s because he sought actively while hearing God’s words, and then he was enlightened by God to recognize that the Lord Jesus was Christ. Only when man actively seeks and knocks can he recognize God’s voice and come before God. Yet those chief priests and scribes, who were stubborn and arrogant, remained blind to it, and utterly indifferent, and still held their notions. As a result, they nailed the Lord Jesus to the cross, committing a heinous crime. Is that not worthy of our reflection?” Hearing the sister’s fellowship, I thought: Yeah, believing or not is just a momentary slip. Since there are past examples of warning, I cannot miss this good opportunity. So I began to investigate God’s work in the last days.
I saw the following words of God, “Did you not desire greatly to see the God in heaven? Did you not desire greatly to understand the God in heaven? Did you not desire greatly to see the destination of mankind? He will tell you all these secrets that no man has been able to tell you, and He will even tell you of the truths that you do not understand. He is your gate into the kingdom, and your guide into the new age. … Though you cannot hear the words He speaks that seem to shake the heavens and earth or see His eyes like blazing flames, and though you cannot feel the discipline of His iron rod, you can hear from His words the fury of God and know that God shows compassion for mankind; you can see the righteous disposition of God and His wisdom, and moreover, realize the concern and care that God has for all mankind. The work of God in the last days is to allow man to see the God in heaven live among men on earth, and to enable man to come to know, obey, revere, and love God. This is why He has returned to flesh for a second time. … The work of God is that which you cannot comprehend. If you can neither grasp whether your decision is correct nor know whether the work of God can succeed, then why not try your luck and see whether this ordinary man is of great help to you, and whether God has done great work. … but in the end every nation shall worship this ordinary man, as well as give thanks to and obey this insignificant man. Because it is He who has brought the truth, the life, and the way to save all mankind, ease the conflict between God and man, bring God and man closer together, and communicate thoughts between God and man. It is also He who has brought even greater glory to God. Is not an ordinary man such as this worthy of your trust and adoration? Is such an ordinary flesh not fit to be called Christ? Can such an ordinary man not be the expression of God among men? Is not such a man who helps mankind be spared disaster worthy of your love and for you to hold? If you reject the truths uttered from His mouth and also detest His existence among you, then what will be your fate?”. “So, though you were born in the last days, your understanding is that of the former and the past; you have also experienced what is of this day, and such was accomplished by My hand”.
These words carry not only authority and power, but comfort and exhortation, with the tone just like the Lord Jesus, and are utterances of one Spirit. I found they are the voice of God. Only God has such authority, only He can pity and console the mankind this way, only He can govern man’s fate and bestow a destination upon him, and only He can reveal the mysteries in heaven. This is exactly the voice of God. After reading these words, I simply could not disguise excitement in my heart. I had never dreamed of welcoming the Lord’s return in my life. After that, through the sister’s fellowship, I knew that the Lord Jesus returns being incarnated as the Son of man mainly to perform His work of judgment and chastisement in the last days. God expresses words to judge and chastise man’s corruption and rebellion, to purify and transform man’s corrupt dispositions practically, so that we can be free from the state of sinning in the day and confessing in the evening thoroughly. Thus, we will be fully saved in the end. Only when we accept the work of judgment and chastisement that has been brought by God, Christ of the last days, can we receive His salvation and be brought into His kingdom. This is a very rare opportunity, because it is the last time that God saves mankind, and the last chance God gives us too! If we miss this opportunity, we won’t cast off the corrupt dispositions. And we will be the slave of sin forever. Then, we will be bound to be perished in the end, and will be the kind of person going to hell! Only after understanding God’s will, did I find it so significant for God to come to work in the form of a man and how deep the will of God is that He works humbly hidden in the flesh among man to save man. I couldn’t help bursting into tears, and came before God to offer my grateful prayer, “Oh God! I give You thanks for choosing me and giving me a chance to come before You and accept Your salvation. I only wish to follow You closely the rest of my life, to experience Your work and get thoroughly cleansed and changed, and to pursue to gain the truth.”
Thinking back to the scenes in the past, when wracked by sickness badly, I held an attitude of trying to see and grasped the golden time of treatment, and thus my disease was completely cured; on the matter of accepting the returned Lord Jesus, after I listened to the fellowship and testimony of the sister who preached the gospel of kingdom and read God’s words, I fully understood that God is the returned Lord Jesus, kept pace with His footsteps, and fortunately accepted His salvation. I deeply knew it was all God’s grace and my partiality. I am grateful for God’s salvation of me from my heart. All the glory be to God!
Jesus Christ is God Himself. The Holy Father, the Holy Son, and the Holy Spirit, They are One. We can know from the bible verses, the Lord Jesus said, “he that has seen me has seen the Father….” (John 14:9) “I am in the Father, and the Father in me….” (John 14:10) “I and my Father are one” (John 10:30).
