Why Are There So Many Different Christian Denominations?

Why Are There So Many Different Christian Denominations?

When Jesus Christ came to earth to do His work in person, all those who believed in Him came under His name. The apostles spread the gospel everywhere, and joined all the brothers and sisters who had accepted the salvation of Jesus Christ and come under His name together, uniting them into one in Christ. The believers then only followed Jesus Christ. Just as the scriptures read, “One Lord, one faith, one baptism. One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all” (Ephesians 4:5-6). Therefore, there didn’t appear different denominations in the age of apostles.

What Does “Born Again” Mean? How to Get Reborn?

What Does “Born Again” Mean? How to Get Reborn?

Yanxi
Speaking of being born again, I believe that all the brothers and sisters in the Lord know it and may think of the dialogue between the Lord Jesus and Nicodemus recorded in the Bible, “Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus said to him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said to you, You must be born again” (John 3:3-7). The Lord Jesus told us that a man cannot enter into the kingdom of God unless he is born again, and that anyone who is not reborn will be eliminated by God. As can be seen, this requirement of the Lord Jesus is of great concern for every one of us that believes in and follows God.

How Should We Prepare Oil to Be Wise Virgins?

How Should We Prepare Oil to Be Wise Virgins?

Tong Tong
The Lord Jesus said: “Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened to ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go you out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go you rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut” (Matthew 25:1-10). Two thousand years ago, the Lord Jesus once told us a very vivid parable about who can enter the kingdom of heaven. He said that only the wise virgins can welcome the bridegroom, and the foolish virgins who haven’t taken oil with them cannot. When I read this parable, I was determined to be a wise virgin to welcome the second coming of Jesus, and feast with Him.

Is the Hope of Rapture to meet Jesus Christ Achievable?

Is the Hope of Rapture to meet Jesus Christ Achievable?

Li Huan
Like many brothers and sisters who truly believe in the Lord, I have been longing for the return of the Lord Jesus, holding to the words in the Bible, “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:17). Thus, we have been obsessively looking at the sky, yearning that a day will come when the Lord Jesus will take us into the clouds to meet with Him in the air, and then we can enter the kingdom of heaven and gain eternal life.

Seven Prophecies of the Lord Jesus’ Return

Seven Prophecies of the Lord Jesus’ Return

Zheng Xun
Now it is the end of the last days. Many brothers and sisters, who truly believe in the Lord and wait for Him coming back, must have such questions: The Lord Jesus has said, “And, behold, I come quickly” (Revelation 22:12). He has promised us to return. Has He come back yet? How can we know whether He has returned or not?

The Knot in My Heart Was Untied

The Knot in My Heart Was Untied

Zhang Xiaoguang

I was born in the countryside. My neighbor’s daughter, Damei, was born in the same year as me. We played together since childhood and studied in the same class until graduation of junior middle school. It could be said that we were childhood sweethearts. At that time, I thought: I’ll marry Damei when I grow up.

God Is in Charge of My Family

God Is in Charge of My Family
Ding Xia
People often say, “Even a just official finds it hard to settle family disputes.” In actual life, no matter which class we belong to, whether we are rich or poor, we cannot extricate ourselves from disputes over family trifles. So, many people are helpless in the face of them. I used to be like that and feel distressed because of the trifles. But my life has changed and been full of joy ever since God’s work of the last days came upon me.
My name is Ding Xia, and I lived in the countryside after my marriage. My husband worked away from home to make money. I farmed the land and took care of my two children in school. Though we lived a simple and poor life, my family members got along well with each other. However, my father-in-law’s death brought the harmony to an end.

A Storm Arising From House Property

A Storm Arising From House Property

Li Yue

I’m an only child. I grew up in my parents’ tender love, and moreover lived in an advantaged condition. Since I got married, my husband and I had always lived in my parents’ home. My husband was in charge of our home life, while I worked outside. We lived in perfect harmony. After my parents’ death, the salaries and house property were all in my charge, and naturally I held the purse string, which made me feel very secure. What’s more, I always had the final say in my family. I remembered there was a time when I played mahjong; I lost over 20,000 yuan after playing for a week in a row. My family persuaded me to give up it. I said to them, “I earned the money. It’s up to me how to use it. I’ll do whatever I want. None of your business.” At my words, my family could not say anything else. Just then, I thought: It seems that I’d better hold on to money in my own hands at any time. Otherwise, I won’t be so free to do whatever I like.

What Kind of People Are Considered God’s Followers?

What Kind of People Are Considered God’s Followers?

Yang Min
bible, God, Jesus, Jesus Christ, holy spirit
I believe that like me, all the brothers and sisters in the Lord have received lots of peace and blessings from the Lord, and that we all have ever been resolved to follow the Lord all our life. I remember, at that time I was fervent within. In order to repay the Lord’s great love, I actively spread the gospel for Him and supported the church, and I had confidence about holding on to His way. Moreover, I constantly contemplated His grace, and I was frequently moved to tears when I prayed, feeling so close to the Lord. I prided myself on being a follower of the Lord.

Why Did the Lord Jesus Work on the Sabbath?

Why Did the Lord Jesus Work on the Sabbath?

Jehovah God Required Man to Observe the Sabbath

The Old Testament records that Jehovah God issued laws and commandments for man to obey, one of which was the observation of the Sabbath day. The fourth commandment says, “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shall you labor, and do all your work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD your God: in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: why the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it” (Exodus 20:8-11).

Will the Lord Jesus take believers up into the kingdom of heaven when He comes again?

Will the Lord Jesus take believers up into the kingdom of heaven when He comes again?

The Lord has promised to us, “I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:2-3). We know that the Lord has prepared a place for us in heaven. When He’s back directly to the kingdom of heaven, we’ll go. So if the Lord has returned, I truly wonder why we are still here and not in heaven.

Jesus Cleanses the Temple

Jesus Cleanses the Temple

bible, God, Jesus, Jesus Christ, holy spirit
Jesus Cleanses the Temple – Matthew 21
12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, 13 And said to them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves.
14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them. 15 And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased, 16 And said to him, Hear you what these say? And Jesus said to them, Yes; have you never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings you have perfected praise? 17 And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.

Jesus Christ is God Himself. The Holy Father, the Holy Son, and the Holy Spirit, They are One. We can know from the bible verses, the Lord Jesus said, “he that has seen me has seen the Father….” (John 14:9) “I am in the Father, and the Father in me….” (John 14:10) “I and my Father are one” (John 10:30).

Two Blind Men Receive Sight

Two Blind Men Receive Sight

Two Blind Men Receive Sight – Matthew 20
29 And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him. 30 And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, you son of David. 31 And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, you son of David. 32 And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will you that I shall do to you? 33 They say to him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. 34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant – Matthew 18
21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22 Jesus said to him, I say not to you, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

How Should We Welcome the Return of the Lord Jesus?

How Should We Welcome the Return of the Lord Jesus?

Nowadays, all the believers in the Lord are expecting the Lord Jesus’ second coming to bring man into the kingdom of heaven. Especially when people reading the scripture Acts 1:11, “Which also said, You men of Galilee, why stand you gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven.”, they think that the Lord left on a white cloud, so he will surely return on a white cloud. Thus most people just wait for the return of the Lord Jesus passively. But over more than two thousand years have passed, man still hasn’t seen the Savior coming with clouds. In recent years, whenever I see the disaster is greater and greater and the church becomes more and more desolate, I couldn’t help looking up to heaven and crying out to the Lord, “O Lord! Nowadays various signs of the last days have already been fulfilled, but why have we still not seen your return?” With the passage of time, I began to doubt: Is it truly after God’s heart that we wait for God’s coming so passively? Then how shall we welcome the return of the Lord?

How Should We Welcome the Return of Jesus?

How Should We Welcome the Return of Jesus?

I have been expecting the return of the Lord Jesus since I believed in Him. I believe that every true believer in the Lord longs for His return and even more hopes to hear His words. Then, how should we welcome the return of Jesus? In order to find the answer, I studied the Bible many times and asked many brothers and sisters for help. Someone said, “The Bible records that the Lord Jesus will return in the same way He went into heaven, returning on a white cloud. Those who truly believe in the Lord will be caught up to heaven to meet Him. We should wait patiently and have faith in the Lord.” Some said, “The pastors and elders in the church will know it first when Jesus returns. Nothing will go wrong if we follow them.” After hearing these words, I just held onto them.

The Lord Jesus Gave Peter the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, Why Did the Lord Approve of Peter’s Faith?

The Lord Jesus Gave Peter the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, Why Did the Lord Approve of Peter’s Faith?

 Zhang Jin
In Matthew 16:18-19 the Lord Jesus said: “And I say also to you, That you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Whenever I read these two verses, I would think: Why did the Lord Jesus give Peter the keys of the kingdom of heaven? Since the Lord Jesus bestowed upon Peter such great authority, it means that the Lord Jesus approved of Peter’s faith and that Peter was a person after God’s heart. But I couldn’t understand why the Lord commended Peter since he had denied knowing the Lord three times before His crucifixion. I was very perplexed.

What Kind of People Does God Commend?

What Kind of People Does God Commend?

bible, God, Jesus, Jesus Christ, holy spirit,
He Ling
The Lord Jesus said, “Not every one that said to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity” (Matthew 7:21-23). From these words of the Lord Jesus, we know that only those who do the will of the Father in heaven shall enter into the kingdom of heaven. We also see that many people have prophesied and cast out devils in the Lord’s name and have had such great faith in the Lord that they have spent for Him, suffered hardships for His sake, and spread His name by bearingtestimony for Him, but the Lord will convict them by saying, “depart from me, you that work iniquity!” Why is this so? Then, what kind of people are the ones who do the will of the Father in heaven?
