Give up, and You Will Gain

Give up, and You Will Gain

Qin Fei
What to choose and what to give up in life are really important. As many people know, one has to give up something before he gains. But in all one’s lifetime, it is the most difficult thing to manage the two words—“give up” and “gain.”

Turn Left? Turn Right?

Turn Left? Turn Right?

Xue song

If we compare the course of a man’s life to a journey in this material world, then each journey is surely different in the length and direction. But all of us wish it to be a journey of bliss and significance. However, after going through various hardships in life, many become aware that reality doesn’t always meet their wishes. Wish is merely a sort of thought or belief of man. When arriving at a crossing, we are always full of anticipation and hesitation, as we are ignorant of which path leads to happiness, how to make the journey meaningful, and even more ignorant of what is waiting for us at the end of the path. At the intersection of your life, how do you choose? To turn left or turn right.

God’s salvation – Loving Guarding

God’s salvation – Loving Guarding

Xinzhi
When I was young, my family was poor. My mother had mental illness, so the heavy burden of my family fell upon my father alone. He had traveled many places to seek a cure for my mother’s illness but to no avail. At that time I thought: I must study hard to be a doctor when I grow up. As science is making increasing progress, my mother’s illness can surely be cured in the future. However, it never occurred to me that not only did my mother not get cured, but my sister was also diagnosed with Hepatitis B, which, the doctor said, was an infectious disease and could cause various systemic diseases, even death. In more than one year of her hospitalization, her condition was getting worse and worse. Seeing this, I could do nothing but steal away to cry in private and say in my heart: Sister, hold on for another two years. You are sure to be cured! For science is developing so fast and the wonder drug for your disease can surely be developed. Your younger brother and I can’t live without you…. But she still left us, and my brother and I cried bitterly for her.

God Preserved Me From Death

God Preserved Me From Death

Su Xing
I’m a Christian. I was expecting a baby on March 8, 2014. A few days before that, I had undergone all necessary examinations in a town hospital, and the result was fine. So we decided that I had a natural delivery. My whole family had got everything ready to meet the arrival of a new life.

How to Pray: Praying in Spirit and Truth to Obtain God’s Answer

How to Pray: Praying in Spirit and Truth to Obtain God’s Answer

Xiaomei
Brothers and sisters, peace to you in the Lord. Today let’s fellowship about the truth regarding prayer. As is known to all believers in the Lord, prayer is indispensable to us followers. If a Christian does not pray, he does not deserve to be called a Christian. Through prayer we have faith to practice the Lord’s teachings; through prayer we are enlightened and guided by Him; through prayer our work and dedication can be after His heart; through prayer we can come out of the weakness time and again; through prayer we can have enough strength to take up the cross and drink from the bitter cup…. Obviously, the entire life of Christian cannot be separated from prayer. However, many believers say, “Why can’t my prayers obtain the Lord’s answer? Why does He not hear my prayers? Why can’t I feel His presence in my prayers?” If you have the same confusion, then it is likely that something is wrong with your prayers.

How Should We Prepare Oil to Be Wise Virgins?

How Should We Prepare Oil to Be Wise Virgins?

Tong Tong
The Lord Jesus said: “Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened to ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go you out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go you rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut” (Matthew 25:1-10). Two thousand years ago, the Lord Jesus once told us a very vivid parable about who can enter the kingdom of heaven. He said that only the wise virgins can welcome the bridegroom, and the foolish virgins who haven’t taken oil with them cannot. When I read this parable, I was determined to be a wise virgin to welcome the second coming of Jesus, and feast with Him.
